Series to watch: Victoria

I love historical tv shows/period dramas. Even if they only have tiny historical bits like "Reign" does.
So, when I read that Jenna Coleman (one of my favourite actresses) was going to play Queen Victoria on a tv show, I knew I had to watch it.

I don't know much about British history, and these kind of shows (like "The Tudors" or even "Outlander") are great to know a bit more. But you MUST take the things they say with a pinch of salt (I believe that's the expression used in English), meaning that you DO NOT believe everything they say. There always are some liberties (Victoria and Lord M... it didn't happen that way).

Season 1 tells the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne when she was just 18, to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. Besides the main plot there are others that at first you might don't like, but that at the end of the season are probably going to let you wanting for more (they are plots created by the writers, not historical accurate).
The season it's just 8 episodes, and ended last week. So you can binge-watch it haha Though I would recommend taking it easy. Season 2 has been announced to start in 2017, so we'll have to wait a bit to know more.

Along with the plot, the other things I've really enjoyed are the costumes, the music, and the backgrounds.
All the gowns Victoria wore are amazing. I especially loved the white/creamy ones. And the wedding dress of course. Did you know that the tradition of brides wearing white started with her?

The music, especially the theme song, is great as well. I watched this show with my sister, and everytime an episode started, we would sing along the "gloriana aleluya" xD

And the backgrounds... wow. All the palaces look incredible, though my favourites were all the outside scenes. The buildings and the gardens were lovely. One thing I didn't know though, was that Buckingham Palace has changed a lot!

So if you are interested in history (and are not too picky about the changes the writers do), like dramas, and gorgeous gowns are one of your weaknesses, you need to check out "Victoria" (she also is really cool. Little sassy queen as I call her haha).

Series to watch: Lucifer

Last night I was watching the first episode of season 2 and when it ended I was like umm... I should recommend this show on the blog! So here I am.

Quoting our beloved wikipedia, who knows almost everything, the series focuses on Lucifer Morningstar, "who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals". Lucifer runs a piano bar in Los Angeles called "Lux", with the assistance of his demonic ally Mazikeen or "Maze". After a minor celebrity whom Luciger once helped achieve fame is murdered ourside his club, Lucifer becomes involved with the LAPD when he takes it upon himselg to assist Detective Chloe Decker in finding the one responsible so that he can "punish them".

This show is kind of similar to "Castle", "The Mentalist"or "Elementary". You have a police detective who gets help from someone who isn't a fellow police (in this case the devil himself) to solve the crimes. On each episode they solve a different crime but, you also have a big main one that is solved at the end of the season and that kind of makes sense with things we see through the season. And we have some drama and funny bits, most of them courtesy of Lucifer.

But why do I like it that much and recommend it?
1. If you like the shows I mentioned before, you are probably gonna like this one. Yes, is most of the same (that's what my dad said and why he didn't like it).

2. It has a supernatural touch because of Lucifer's story line. And I personally love that (demons, angels, vampires... Anything the Winchesters can kill, I am in xD). I think it makes it different from other shows with a similar plot.

3. The one that got me totally in: Lucifer himself, aka Tom Ellis (you may know him because he was Gary on "Miranda" and the first Robin Hood on "Once Upon a Time"). He is very handsome and suits fit him as a glove.

But his voice and his accent... HIS VOICE AND HIS ACCENT. Ugh. I've watched the show both in English and Spanish, and it is not the same. It loses one of the big features of Lucifer. He is supposed to be sexy as hell (ha... ha) and to make people confess him their darkest secrets, and Tom's voice and his British accent do that perfectly. The difference is huge, seriously.

4. Season 1 only has 13 episodes, and so far from season 2 we only have one and they are on a two weeks hiatus. Most shows aren't coming until October, so you have something to watch!

Pretty Little Liars S7 Midseason Finale | My thoughts (Contains spoilers)

I just finished the PLL midseason finale, and I was going to write this on tumblr, but I said... Let's do a blog post! I have a blog for something, right? xD
This midseason finale has been the same as always. They keep saying something shocking is gonna happen and then meh. Some shocking things actually happened, people might be dead and a big secret was revealed. But I ended up the episode like meh.
I’ve known that Spencer was the one who got shot since last week because of the promo. You just had to look at the boots the person who was on the floor was wearing. They even gave us a shot were you could see them from head to toe! And I don’t think she is dead. Troian has been directing an episode from 7b, and she was still wearing her bangs. So she’ll recover.

Toby and his girlfriend... Umm... He’ll probably be alive as well, fans love Spoby too much. But I am not sure about his girlfriend. Also, Noel’s death... LOL. How stupid was that? I laughed so hard when it happened! xD
So, the deaths are gonna end up being deaths from not that important characters. Or not important at all, because Toby’s girlfriend... She was on the background all the time. I don’t even remember her name. We’ll miss Noel because he was cute, but still... They lied to us. Again.
Then the big revelation: Mary is Spencer’s mum! I’ve been seeing that theory on YouTube during the whole season. YouTube suggested it everytime I went to see a promo from the show. So it wasn’t a surprise. But Spencer’s family tree is becoming more complicated than Henry’s from "Once Upon a Time" xD
And the rest... Alison is pregnant. I knew it since they were all in the kitchen and she said she was sick. It wasn’t just because of Paige and Emily. Speaking of Emily... can she be more dumb? Leaving her phone? Ugh. Nicole is alive... Poor Aria. But of course she is alive! She is a freaking vampire! xD (You won’t understand that if you don’t watch "The Originals". You should. It is a great show. And the actress who plays Nicole nails it)
So now, what do we expect from season 7b, which would be the end (finally)? People being alive, couple problems... and Jenna with A.D. But I personally am looking forward to Wren. Because he is back. And I’ve missed Julian Morris on my screen. I’ve always thought that he was hiding something, and having him back for the end of the show, and having in mind that Alison’s husband had a British accent... boom!

73 questions | Part 2

Here is part 2 of the "73 questions" tag. I've had to add some questions from Anna Wintour's video because I deleted some that weren't interesting while doing part 1.
Hope you like it! :)

37. What can you say in another language?
This whole blog is in a different language than mine haha. But besides that, I studied three years of French in high school and I still remember some things.

38. What do you love the most about the town where you grew up?
Our traditions. The costumes we wear during carnival, the procession we do the morning of the town's big day, our dances, our typical costumes... I might do a post about it one day.

39. What is one goal you are determined to achieve in your life time?
This is gonna sound boring, but be happy and have a family.

40. What is your favourite scent candle?
I don't have one, I've never been into candles. And lately everytime there is a strong scent or one that lasts a lot, I end up with a horrible headache (same as my mom), so I wouldn't be able to have one.

41. If you could master a sport, what would it be?
Thanks to the Olympics I remembered how much I liked rhythmic gymnastics and how badly I wanted to be able to do that when I was a kid. One of my classmates went to a proper gym, and I envied her so much!

42. What song always makes you wanna dance?
"Shake it off" by Taylor Swift.

43. What's the best fashion tip you've ever received?
It is a post I saw a couple of days ago on tumblr, not a tip someone gave me, but it works the same way.

44. When you were 13, who was your celebrity crush?
I am not sure... Probably a Real Madrid player. Or David Bisbal. He is a singer from a programme similar to "American Idol", and I think he has a lot of fans on Latin America right now.

45. What's the last show you bing-watched?
"Stranger things".

46. Name one thing you can't live without.
The internet. I mean, I can live without it for more than a couple of days, but to have other entertainments, like music, books, movies, etc, I need it.

47. What's the most nervous you've ever been?
Before doing the exams to get into university, or the first day of university.

48. What's one expression/word you say too much?
In English I think I use "like" a lot. And in Spanish... buff. Pum/pun/chun when I am explaining something and I can't remember a word. It is a bit hard to explain xD

49. Favourite app.
Tumblr, though it is a bit shit, and TVShow Time. It is the best app to keep track of all my shows. And I can share opinions with other users!

50. How do you feel about Pokemon Go?
I've always been more into Digimon, but I wouldn't mind trying it. The thing is my phone only works where there is wi-fi.

51. You can only eat one thing forever. What is it?
Oh man... I've been thinking about this for five minutes, and I can't choose. I just love food too much to pick one single thing haha

52. Who do you want to play you in the movie of your life?
Natalie Dormer. I know she is older than me and that we don't look alike, but she is my favourite actress.

53. If you could spend three months anywhere, where would it be?
Canada or Cape Town.

54. What's an album people would be surprised you own?
I have an AC/DC greatest hits album. Some people still get surprised when a girl listens something different to pop music.

55. What's the first thing you do each morning?
Putting on my glasses.

56. What's the last thing you do before you go to bed?
Take off my glasses.

57. What's your favourite dessert?
There is this yogurt that I've always called "dalky" (I think that's how a brand named it) that has cream on top and then chocolate, and it is amazing.

58. Who's your favourite artist of all time?
Vincent Van Gogh.

59. What's your favourite painting of all time?
"The Scream" by Münch.

60. Describe your ideal man in three words.
Funny, tall and mature.

61. What's the best first date idea?
Just going for a walk or maybe to a football/handball/basketball game.

62. What's one thing in your closet you recently brought back into your wardrobe?
My black converse. I live in them the whole year, but this summer I've been able to put them away and wear other shoes. I've brought them back because I've done some trips and they are the best for walking.

63. Who is your fashion icon?
It changes a lot. But when I need inspiration I always go back to Alexa Chung.

64. What's the last book you read?
I finished "The Infernal Devices" by Cassandra Clare (it is a trilogy from the "Shadowhunters" world) last month. I've planned to do a review, but I need my muse to come first.

65. What's the best activity to do at home on a rainy day?
Watch a movie, a tv show or a sports game lying on the sofa. And it gets better if you have something to eat.

66. What's your favourite type of flower?
Google says that the name in English is calla lily.

67. Favourite musical?
Does "High School Musical" count? xD I really like the second movie, all Sharpay's songs are amazing!

68. Biggest phobia?
Heights. Anything taller than a first floor scares the hell out of me.

69. What would you never wear?
With fashion you can never say never, but right now culottes are everywhere and I would never wear them.

70. What are you reading right now?
"Lady Midnight" by Cassadra Clare (it also is from the "Shadowhunters" world). I started it at the begining of the month, but haven't read anything since then.

71. What's the greatest invention of all time?
The internet.

72. What's your favourite piece of clothing to wear?
T-shirts.

73. If you were a superheroe, what would be your chryptonite?
I said that my superpower would be teletransportation, so maybe not a thing but a ghost that follows me if I travel too much?¿ Last season on "The Flash" they had something similar xD
