20 Songs Tag

I saw this tag a while ago on YouTube, and because I really liked it, I thought it would be nice to do it here on the blog. This way you can also know a bit more about me. Let's begin!

1. Favourite Song

I've always found really difficult to pick a song and say: that's my favourite song. But after listening a lot of music, I finally can say that "Kings & queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars is my favourite song. Everytime I listen the drums at the beginning I'm like YEEEEEEEES!!, and the ooooh that follow them always make me sing like a crazy. "Fun" fact: I still don't know the lyrics. I know some parts, but not the whole song, and I've been hearing it for years xD

2. A song that you hate

I think I don't hate any song, but I must admit that I can't stand this new genre of music called electro latino. It is similar to reggaeton, but with an electronic touch. For example, this is a song that has been everywhere lately and that I can't stand.

3. A song that makes you sad

I don't normally listen to sad songs. Or anything similar to ballads because they bored me to dead, so I can't think of a song that makes me sad.

4. A song that reminds you of someone

Everytime I listen to this song it reminds me of one of my cousins. We used to sleep in the same room when we were younger. One day we weren't able to sleep, so we started to sing this song but very quietly because her parents were sleeping in the next room.

5. A song that makes you happy

This changes a lot, but right now "Olivia" by One Direction always puts me in a good mood. I always find myself singing it afterwards. This song isn't on YouTube, so if you want to listen to it, check Spotify.

6. A song that reminds you of a specific moment

I was watching this band live the same day the Spain National Football Team won the 2008 Eurocup. And it was one of the best moments of my live. We watched the game at the venue where the concert was going on, and then the band came out to play with flags, and woah. Amazing. This song my favourite from the album they were presenting at that time.

7. You know the lyrics of this song by heart
The first song that came to my mind when I read this question was "Don't you worry child" by Swedish House Mafia. It is such an amazing song!

8. A song that makes you dance

Most songs I listen to make me want to dance, but today "Uptown funk" was on the tv and I just started dancing like an idiot. I think that's what most people do when they listen this song xD

9. A song that helps you sleep

I can't sleep if there is music or any noise at all, so I can't choose anything over here.

10. A song that you like in secret

This song is by an Spanish band that is like a copy of One Direction (or at least that's how they started). I've never liked them, but they have this song right now that it is really catchy and that I happen to like. Oh Jeez xD

11. A song you identify yourself with

I don't identify myself with the whole song, but there are some parts from "The Kill" by 30 Seconds to Mars I can relate to a lot. I am gonna put the acoustic version because it is simply beautiful.

12. A song you used to love and now you hate

This is not a song I hate (the lyrics are about a really important topic), but I feel a bit embarrased every time I remember that I used to love it. Oh the teenage years... xD

13. A song from your favourite album

My favourite album has to be "This is War" by 30 Seconds to Mars (yep, they are my favourite band). And a song... "Closer to the edge". Song + video + lyrics = perfection.

14. A song you can play with an instrument.

I can play a couple of songs with a flute (the one we all over here used to play when we were kids), but the one I like the most is "Vois sur to Chemin" from the movie "The Chorus"(higly recommend it if you haven't watched it).

15. A song you would like to sing in public

"Shake it off", by Taylor Swift. Why? Because I have a whole choreography on my head and I know I can nail it.

16. A song to listen while driving

I don't have a driving licence, but any time I am on the car with my dad and my sister and "How deep is your love" is on the radio, we go crazy. My sister and I sing the lyrics and my dad the auuuh xD

17. A song from your childhood

My dad used to play me a lot of dance music when I was little, and it has influenced me a lot, because nowadays is what I listen to the most. I could choose a lot of songs, but I know this is one of his favourites (and it is an amazing song, tbh).

18. A song nobody thinks you may like

Have you ever heard about this tv show called "Supernatural"? Well, it happens to be my favourite show, and during the first seasons they used to play a lot of classic rock. I personally loved AC/DC, and everytime I tell people about that, they are like: You? You only listen to dance music and some rock! :O

19. The song you want to be played the day of your wedding

I think this song should be somethin that means something for me and my future husband. But, if I have to choose a song, this acoustic version of "Kings and Queens" (it is my favourite song as you already know), would be perfect. The string quartet make it sound so beautifully.

20. The song you want to be played on your funeral

At first I didn't know what to choose, but after talking about "Supernatural", there was a song that came to my mind: "Carry on my wayward son", by Kansas. They normally play this song at the beginning of the last episode in almost every season (or maybe in every season, I can't remember right now), and it gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it. I always think about this song like "the end song", but there always is a "to be continued". I am gonna post the original song and an a capella version I found years ago on tumblr and that I think it is amazing (so as the original version).

Hope you liked this looooooong post. If you do this tag on your blog or wherever, let me know! I find it really interesting.

Talk to you soon!

Shadowhunters Vs. The Mortal Instruments (the movie). Who played it better?

Last week premiered "Shadowhunters", the tv show based on the book series "The Mortal Instruments", by Cassandra Clare. I have read the books (except the last one), and I was really excited when I found out that they were making a show, and today I wanted to share my thoughts about it.

I wanted to do a nice review, comparing the plot on the show, the movie and the books. But I have a cold and my brain isn't on the mood, so I am gonna leave that for later. I may do it once the show is over and the plot has been more developed and we have more things to compare. So far there only are two episodes avaliable, and the changes they have done are not as bad as some people say. Or maybe I am used to the changes on Game of Thrones and it doesn't bother me that much anymore xD

What I am gonna do today is to compare the actors from both the movie and the show, and then try to decide who represents better what I had on mind while reading the books.

  • Clary Fray
                Lily Collins                                          Katherine McNamara
As I said before, there only are two episodes of "Shadowhunters", but they are enought to make me choose Lily Collins (Clary on the movie), over Katherine McNamara. Ignoring the fact that her hair is not ginger, is orange as hell, she is not a good actress. Or she hasn't shown it yet. When she has to play nice Clary, she is ok, but once she has to cry, to be tougher or to try to flirt with Jace...  Fail. And I am not the only one who thinks this way. I hope she gets better, because she is the main character.

  • Jace Wayland
                     Dominic Sherwood                                           Jamie Campbell Bower
I liked Jamie Campbell Bower on the movie, and I like Dominic Sherwodd on the show, though neither of them look like the Jace I had on my mind. I think that if you mix them, that could be my Jace...

  • Simon Lewis
             Robert Seehan                                  Alberto Rosende
Though both Robert Seehan (movie) and Alberto Rosende (show) are really good, Robert wins. He was perfect and just as I imagined Simon.

  • Isabelle Lightwood
                              Emeraude Toubia                                             Jemima West
I had to google who played her on the movie because I couldn't remember, so the Isabelle from "Shadowhunters" (Emeraude Toubia) wins. Though she would have won even if I had remembered Jemima West. Her Izzy is perfect. At first, when they announced that she was playing her, I wasn't sure, but now that I have seen her acting... Per-fect (read that as Liam Payne on the "Best song ever" video).

  • Alec Lightwood
                      Matthew Daddario                                Kevin Zegers
With him happens something similar to with his sister, though in his case I remember the actor who played him on the movie, Kevin Zegers. He was on Gossip Girl and I didn't like his character, so the same happened to Alec. But in the show everything change. When Matthew Daddario got cast, I wasn't sure about him either, but once I saw him acting, I was totally in. He is my Alec. And he is so hot. SO HOT! I am in love.

  • Magnus Bane

           Godfrey Gao                                      Harry Shum, Jr.

We haven't seen much of Magnus on "Shadowhunters", but he is played by "the korean guy from Glee". And so far he stays that way xD The one on the movie, Godfrey Gao, was really good. The way they dressed him up was perfect, just as I pictured him while reading the books. So Magnus from "The Mortal Instruments" wins.

  • Jocelyn Fray
             Lena Headey                                          Maxim Roy
On the movie Jocelyn was played by the amazing Lena Headey, aka Cersei Lannister. And though I love her, she didn't fit as my Jocelyn. On the show she is played by Maxim Roy, and I quite like her. But this has to be a tie. I love Lena too much.

  • Valentine Morgenstern
Alan Van Sprang                                                  Jonathan Rhys Meyers
Valentine is the bad guy, and on the movie he was played by another great actor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I really like him (I don't know how many times I've seen "Match Point" or "Bend it like Beckham"), but as Valentine... meh. On "Shadowhunters" they have chosen Alan Van Sprang. He played King Henry on "Reign", and when they announced that they have cast him, I was like yes! If they let him, he can play an amazing Valentine. So even though neither of them had the white hair Valentine had on the books, I think I am choosing Alan (sorry Jonathan. I still love you though).

  • Luke Garroway
             Aidan Turner                                                   Isaiah Mustafa

Luke is the character that has changed the most if you compare the movie and the show. On the movie, he is played by Aidan Turner (Kíli on "The Hobbit"), and he is more or less like the Luke described on the books. On the show he is totally different. He is played by Isaiah Mustafa, and instead of being a bookseller, he is a policeman. And I like that change. I think it fits better the character, and that's why I choose him over the Luke on the movie.

Final score:
Shadowhunters 4 -  3 The Mortal Instruments
The tv show wins! Will things change at the end of "Shadowhunters" first season? I'll keep you updated!

I tried to review "Girl Online: On Tour" by Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella)

One thing that I forgot to say the other day, is that I really enjoy reading. I've always have. Though lately it has been difficult to sit down somewhere and just read. Not because I don't have time, but because I feel like my brain is not in the mood. I think it exploded after I read "A Song of Ice and Fire" some years ago and it hasn't recovered yet xD

Trying to going back to the habit of reading, I've been reading books with a simple plot, like the one I am reviewing today.

If you are into the world of YouTube, you probably have heard about Zoella. Even if you don't know about youtubers you may know about her. She is huge, and in 2014 she published her first novel: "Girl Online". There was a lot of drama around it, because people believed that she alone had written the book, and that wasn't true. She had had help. (Something that I always thought that was obvious, but it seems not). After smashing all the records, in 2015 she published her second book and sequel of "Girl Online": "Girl Online: On Tour".

I've read both books, and I liked GOOT better than GO. (I'm gonna start talking about them like this because it's easier. Though it kind of looks like GOT, aka Game of Thrones... Fangirl problems, everything is related xD)

GO was too simple. Everybody can write a similar plot, and you could easily guess what was going to happen next. With GOOT, that didn't happen. Again, it is not "The Pillars of Earth" or something like that, but I was way more intrigued about everything.

** Don't read this if you haven't read at least the first book. SPOILERS!

GOOT starts with Penny, our protagonist, getting ready to go with Noah on his European tour. She can't wait to spend more time with him and visit new places. But things don't go as Penny had planned. Someone called "TheRealTruth" starts threatening her, Noah doesn't have too much time to spend with her, and some of his bandmates don't like her. That's when Penny starts thinking that maybe the "rock star life" is not made for her. That could be a nice summary without giving anything important away.

Let's talk now about what I liked and what I didn't. I really liked all the "TheRealThruth" story line. I changed my mind a lot of times about who could be behind all the threats, and at the end I was wrong! I think I never had the person who did everything on my suspects list... Well played Zoe. (Or bad played dear brain. It may have been obvious and you didn't see it!) Another thing that I liked is *SPOILER* that Penny realized that not having a boyfriend wasn't the end of the world. She saw that her health, her life and her future were more important, she put herself before anything else. *END OF THE SPOILER* On the other hand, I didn't like the ending, it was a bit of a cliffhanger. I think they did it that way in case there is a third book, but I was hoping for anything else. And I also felt like the missed a chapter. It was too open for my taste, I need things closed.

**You can read again

To sum up, I liked GOOT. It was better than GO, the plot wasn't as expected. If you are looking for a nice book to read, something to relax your brain and just not think too much, give "Girl Online" and "Girl Online: ON Tour" a try. It's true that they are books for mostly teenagers, but we all have one of those inside us, even if he or she has been phisically gone for a long time. Mine, as a fangirl, is always there. Also, if English is not your first language, these books can be a really good way to improve your reading comprehension and your vocabulary.

That's all for today's post! I tried to wrote it thinking about how they teached us on school to write reviews, but I don't know if I succeeded xD And if you have read any of these books, please let me know what you thought about it! :)

Fangirl online, going offline

You see what I did there? That's for the ones who read the books ;)

As Adele would say... Hello.

I am V. I live between Narnia and Winterfell, and I am a fangirl. But a chill one.

After almost 5 years on tumblr, I've decided to try something new: to write my thoughts and opinions about all the things I like. I've been thinking about it for a while. It's like reblogging gifs and photos is not enough anymore.

And what do I like? Well... a bit of everything. I watch a lot of tv shows, sports, YouYube videos... And I really like fashion. Like a lot. A friend and I always say that because of what we like (we kind of enjoy the same things), we are the perfect match to anyone. But I think we must be doing something wrong, because we both are single xD

I know you probably are thinking about the name of the blog. I wanted to call it "The Fangirl Diaries" (I've had that name in mind for a long time), but it was taken. While thinking a new name, the app I have on my phone to help me to keep all my tv shows organized, told me that there was a new "Keeping up with the Kardashians" episode available (I do watch it, and I regret nothing). And that's from where I got the name! It basically sums up the idea I have for the blog. Something like a journal of all my "fangirl stuff".

From time to time I may talk about something else, like a place I visit, something interesting I do or that happens to me... (Don't get to excited about the last bit, though. Socializing... meh.) Or whatever comes to my mind.

English is not my first language, so if anytime you see that I wrote something wrong, like a verb or a preposition (I've been learning English for years and I still don't  know when to use in and on), I am sorry.

And I don't know what else to say. I've been thinking about this first post for days, and now it's like everything is gone. I'm sure once I click post, all the ideas are gonna come back... ¬¬

So... yeah. I am gonna leave here my tumblr in case you want to know a bit about what things I like... And I'll talk to you soon!
