I tried to review "Girl Online: On Tour" by Zoe Sugg (aka Zoella)

One thing that I forgot to say the other day, is that I really enjoy reading. I've always have. Though lately it has been difficult to sit down somewhere and just read. Not because I don't have time, but because I feel like my brain is not in the mood. I think it exploded after I read "A Song of Ice and Fire" some years ago and it hasn't recovered yet xD

Trying to going back to the habit of reading, I've been reading books with a simple plot, like the one I am reviewing today.

If you are into the world of YouTube, you probably have heard about Zoella. Even if you don't know about youtubers you may know about her. She is huge, and in 2014 she published her first novel: "Girl Online". There was a lot of drama around it, because people believed that she alone had written the book, and that wasn't true. She had had help. (Something that I always thought that was obvious, but it seems not). After smashing all the records, in 2015 she published her second book and sequel of "Girl Online": "Girl Online: On Tour".

I've read both books, and I liked GOOT better than GO. (I'm gonna start talking about them like this because it's easier. Though it kind of looks like GOT, aka Game of Thrones... Fangirl problems, everything is related xD)

GO was too simple. Everybody can write a similar plot, and you could easily guess what was going to happen next. With GOOT, that didn't happen. Again, it is not "The Pillars of Earth" or something like that, but I was way more intrigued about everything.

** Don't read this if you haven't read at least the first book. SPOILERS!

GOOT starts with Penny, our protagonist, getting ready to go with Noah on his European tour. She can't wait to spend more time with him and visit new places. But things don't go as Penny had planned. Someone called "TheRealTruth" starts threatening her, Noah doesn't have too much time to spend with her, and some of his bandmates don't like her. That's when Penny starts thinking that maybe the "rock star life" is not made for her. That could be a nice summary without giving anything important away.

Let's talk now about what I liked and what I didn't. I really liked all the "TheRealThruth" story line. I changed my mind a lot of times about who could be behind all the threats, and at the end I was wrong! I think I never had the person who did everything on my suspects list... Well played Zoe. (Or bad played dear brain. It may have been obvious and you didn't see it!) Another thing that I liked is *SPOILER* that Penny realized that not having a boyfriend wasn't the end of the world. She saw that her health, her life and her future were more important, she put herself before anything else. *END OF THE SPOILER* On the other hand, I didn't like the ending, it was a bit of a cliffhanger. I think they did it that way in case there is a third book, but I was hoping for anything else. And I also felt like the missed a chapter. It was too open for my taste, I need things closed.

**You can read again

To sum up, I liked GOOT. It was better than GO, the plot wasn't as expected. If you are looking for a nice book to read, something to relax your brain and just not think too much, give "Girl Online" and "Girl Online: ON Tour" a try. It's true that they are books for mostly teenagers, but we all have one of those inside us, even if he or she has been phisically gone for a long time. Mine, as a fangirl, is always there. Also, if English is not your first language, these books can be a really good way to improve your reading comprehension and your vocabulary.

That's all for today's post! I tried to wrote it thinking about how they teached us on school to write reviews, but I don't know if I succeeded xD And if you have read any of these books, please let me know what you thought about it! :)
