UEFA Euro 2016 | My highlights

Yesterday ended the UEFA Euro 2016. We have a winner, Portugal (congratulations to all the Portuguese people reading this), and France ended on second place (I don't want to say that they lost because they didn't. They technically did lose, yes. But they also didn't. Losing is what Spain or England did, for example. You know what I mean, right? xD Also, big hug to all the French people who are reading this post).

During this month, we have had some football, a lot of extra time, and a lot of penalties. Just ask Germany and Italy. But this post is not gonna be about the sport itself, it is gonna be about all the things that surrounded it and that made me enjoy the championship. Those things that you comment on twitter and with your friends. Here are my highlights!

  • The channel that broadcasted the Euro where I live was shit, so if I wanted to watch other national teams play, I had to do it on foreign channels. I was very lucky and found a German channel that broadcasted all the games I wanted to watch and, in one of them (Wales - Slovakia), they had a woman as the commentator! I really like German commentators even though I don't understand a thing, and this was so cool to hear! Well done Germany, well done!

I don't know who he is. But have you seen those biceps?!?!

  • "Will Grigg's on fire..."
Who didn't end up singing this song? At any time? Anywhere? Because I did xD I remember listening to this song when I was a kid, so the rythm was already on my head. But after watching a North Ireland game, I couldn't stop singing it or whistling it. And neither did the people around me.
This video is from North Ireland's welcoming on Belfast. I think Will Grigg didn't play a minute, but he was the star of the team.

  • Iceland
Who would have thought that Iceland would be the revelation of the Euro?! Nobody! They won England, sending them home, and did better than the last winner, Spain! Their football might have not been the best, but they did won our hearts. The players (wink, wink), the fans, the way the whole country celebrated it... We all felt Icelandic! And we all loved this "viking" celebration. The first time I saw it I could picture Ragnar doing the same thing before attacking Paris.

  • Quaresma's tattoos
This is a highlight, but a bad one. Who told Quaresma to get that tatto on his face? Why? If you have read the "Game of Thrones" books, you may remember that certain slaves have a similar tattoo... And I was told that on "Orange is the new black" someone had a similar one as well. Yikes.

  • The hairstyles
This is another bad highlight. If you want to see the worst hairstyles, just watch a football game. Dear Lord. During this Euro we've had so many bad choices... Quaresma, Pogba, Hamsik... And though it hurts to say this, Ramsey. There were also two Belgium players with horrible hairstyles, but I can't find them. You can thank me haha.

  • Wales and Alba Bale.
I said before that Iceland was the revelation, but so was Wales. It was their first time on an Euro, and they did amazing! They played great football and reached the semifinals. Congratulations to all the Welsh!!
Wales doing such a great performance also allowed us to see Alba Bale. She is so cute! I still remember seeing her during La Décima celebration, running like a mad thing through the pitch. And she keeps running and running! She is her father's daughter ;)

  • And last but not least, this video that I've been seeing everywhere today. A little Portuguese fan comforting a France supporter after the final. After all the problems we had at the begining of the tournament, it is SO nice to see things like this!

I think I've mentioned everything I wanted to mention. I've been checking my twitter feed to be sure xD If you have another highlights that are not in this post, please let me know!
I might be doing another post soon with my favourite players choosen by very technical reasons (who is the hottest haha).
