2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show | Review

Another year, another Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! And another meh show tbh.
Last night, to get in the mood, I watched some old shows, and things have improved on some matters, but on others... A change is needed in this brand.

We open the show with Leela James performing, and Taylor Hill walking.
I was a bit concerned about Taylor's opening because on all the previews we had seen it didn't look good, but on the final edit it wasn't that bad. I liked it. What I didn't like was the song they chose. You can't open a show with such a slow song. You just can't.
From this segment the best was definitely Yasmin Wijnaldum. What a queen! That's how you go down the runway, such a fierce walk! Simply amazing. Good thing is that she came out after Alexina so I was able to delete from my brain what she did. Oh Ed, why did you have to fall in love with her?! 😭

Next are The Chainsmokers and Kelsea Ballerini.
This is the type of music I listen to, so it was a yes from me since they announced them. It fit the show and the rhythm, and both Kelsea and Andrew interacted with the models while giving them their space and allowing them to do their thing.
Regarding the models, I liked Candice opening, Shanina looked gorgeous, Grace got possessed by either Adriana or Alexina 😂, and they didn't give me Dylan's reaction to Barbara. It was such a good gif! Also, Ming Xi's thinness is starting to be worrying.

After this we got Adriana's little tribute that I can of ignored because she has never been one of my favourites. I started watching the show properly when she was already a veteran, and I missed the "falling in love with her" phase. Also, I am still a bit bitter about VS doing this for her and then treating Alessandra the way they did last year, editing the show so her closing didn't close the show. I am not her fan, but it wasn't fair.

Halsey's segment was the Fantasy Bra one, and everything about it went so unnoticed to me. Well, I did notice something. That Halsey and Winnie "stole" Toni's moment. They got more camera time than her 😒

Speaking of Toni, on the between segments video that came after this and that was about the castings, she seems so done with all the other girls 😂 I guess it's what happens when you are a veteran and have done basically everything.

During Pink I only paid attention to Grace opening (the possession was over haha And man, what a body!), and my cutie pie Willow. Bebe's performance was great too.

Next we have that mess that was the Mary Katrantzou collaboration. Yasmin's outfit still makes me cry. Shawn's song surprised me. I wasn't expecting it to have such a good rhythm for the runway. And Josephine's closing... I don't get it. On the first segment she did good, but you give her some wings and she becomes the Hunchback of Notre Dame. What the hell happens to you Jojo? You are strong! You can lift your fiancé and not those "wings"?! 😔

Rita Ora's segment. Boring. She did good, I like the song, but the cast was so boring...

And we close the show with The Struts and the best segment imo. The outfits were beautiful, we have a kind of good cast, and the music fit perfectly. It could have been the perfect opening too. It has that wow effect that makes you get into the show, pay attetion. Though maybe after Harry Styles last year opening with a similar song, it wasn't the best choice.

During the finale also perfomed The Struts, but it all seemed too rushed.

So, to sum it, it was ok but meh. I feel like most the angels went unnoticed, and so did Kendall, Gigi and Bella. Though Kendall had more camera time than them. And so did her mom, totally having a Regina George's mom moment like on Ariana's music video 😂 Music wise, I liked all the songs but the first one, and all the perfomers did great, knowing that the stars of the show are the models and not them. This isn't one of their concerts. And the outfits weren't anything new, but the ones that closed the show help not losing all hope.
I am already looking forward to 2019. Changes need to be done on the cast (Adriana can't be the only one leaving) and on the offices.

2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show: All you need to know + my thoughts

It's that time of the year again! The madness of the VSFS has arrived! And this year for real.

VS has barely released anything. Other years we had the road to the runway videos to talk about and analyze, sketches of the outfits, the Fantasy Bra, the Swarovski outfit... And for this show we've only had those two last things, and one video (they released another as I was typing this). They say it is because there is a new boss and that they are trying to create some hype, but it has only made fans go a bit nuts because there is nothing to talk about 😂
But let's talk about all the info we do have shall we?

The show is being taped tomorrow, November 8th, and it will air on ABC on December 2nd. Seems that with the new boss one of the things that have changed is the channel where it will air. Other years it was on CBS. And the name has also changed. This year they are announcing it as the "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Holiday Special".

After a few shows outside the US, and some of them being a bit of a chaos (Hi China!), they are back to New York.

For this year's show we have more performers than usual: Shawn Mendes, Halsey, The Chainsmokers, The Struts, Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Kelsea Ballerini and Leela James. Overall I am happy with them. It is way better than Cardi B as a lot of people thought.

The Chainsmokers currently have a song out with Kelsea Ballerini, so they will definitely sing together.

Rita has a new single out, and Bebe sang "I'm a mess" the other day at the EMA's.They also a song together with Cardi B and Charli XCX, so they may sing those.

I believe the same happens with Shawn, that he also has new music out, The Struts... I've never heard any of their songs, so I can't say anything. But keeping in mind that there have been rumours about a "rebel" segment, they will probably perform there. And Halsey... I've never liked her, I don't know what she could sing. But please please please, let it be anything but "Closer" with The Chainsmokers. Besides being an old song, it's become very annoying. And very last minute they've confirmed Leela James. Never heard of her before.

Now, the casting. There was a bit of drama when we found out who made it and who didn't, because great models like Blanca Padilla, Sanne Vloet, Roos Abels or Robin Holzken didn't make it, and "instagram models" did. Them and Winnie Harlow. But now we all have seem to accept it and moved on 😁

To this list we have to add Kendall Jenner and Liu Wen.
From the angels and models who work for VS, I am looking forward to seeing Elsa, Romee, Taylor, Grace and Josephine. From the rest, Toni (who probably is the one I am more excited about), Mayowa, Willow, Cheyenne, Yasmin and Kendall. I know, I know. I may not agree with some thing she says and does, but I still like her. And runway is her thing.

The big things: Fantasy Bra, Swarovski Outfit and Opening.
I am happy with all the models they've chosen, but not so happy with the outfits they've given them.

After waiting for what seemed a looong time, on Monday VS told us who got the FB. I am very happy that Elsa finally got it, but why did they have to give her that thing?!?!?! She deserves something way better!

If you look at it closer, it isn't that ugly, but once it is on her... nope. And those knickers... nope again. I'm crossing all my fingers for it to not go unnoticed as has happened on previous years. I know Elsa will look gorgeous and that she will make it work, but I am dissappointed.

Last night/this morning was announced that Romee will wear the Swarovski Outfit. The jumpsuit is ok, and again, she looks gorgeous and can totally make it work on the runway, but those "wings"... I hope they don't spin 🙈

It was kind of announced and then confirmed by Josephine on her IG comments that Taylor will open the show. I liker her a lot, and her body is looking amazing, so I hope she kills it on the runway and shuts some mouths. And that they give her a great outfit pretty please 😁

The last thing we know is that Charlotte Tilbury will be doing the make up. Make up isn't my thing, so I can't say much about it. I'm just asking for them to not overdraw the models lips. Especially Elsa's 🙈

2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show castings | Street Style

And the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show madness is back!

Yesterday it liteally was madness. Confirmations everywhere, girls who are amazing being rejected, girls who are not worth it being acepted, girls no one knows about making it... Chaos. And looks like today is gonna be something similar haha

But I'll talk about the cast once it is closed. This post is just about the models and their street style during castings. To me, models usually have the best street style, especially during fashion weeks.

For this particular casting, they were styled, and some looks were a bit... too much. And ugly tbh 🙈 But here are some of my favourites! Very basic looks with dresses, skirts, jeans... that we all can recreate, but that have something.Though I sometimes think that that "something" is the person who is wearing it, because I don't look that good with just jeans and a white t-shirt 😂
